Barracuda is used to help fight malware, spam, and phishing messages from reaching your inbox. In this article, we will go through the steps to manage incoming quarantined emails and setting specific sender actions.


1. Accessing Barracuda

Click on the email from Barracuda in your inbox. This is a list of your quarantined emails, and you have the ability to choose how to manage them by clicking on 'Manage Quarantine' or clicking on one of the three options available under 'Actions'.




2. What exactly does each action do?

Deliver: This will deliver the quarantined email to your inbox without adding it to the allow or block list. Simply just delivering an email does not add it to your allow list, you will still need to add that via the actions listed on the email or in the setting menu of Barracuda. After reviewing you can return to the list and choose either to allow or block.

Allow List: From now on, all emails from this sender will be delivered in your inbox without being quarantined by Barracuda next time.

Block List: These are emails you do not want to receive. Emails from this sender will be deleted from now on without being quarantined by Barracuda next time.



3. Selecting your Desired Action

Choose to deliver, add to allow list, or add to block list by clicking on the corresponding action listed. Clicking this, or 'Manage Quarantine', will open Barracuda in your browser. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to do so. Enter your information, then click 'next'.



You can also manually login at http://login.barracudanetworks.com. To ensure the action you choose to manage the email, a green pop-up with a check will appear at the bottom left of your screen. If you don't see the confirmation pop-up, close the tab and try again.

 

NOTICE:  Sometimes the first sign-in does not work. Always check for the pop-up confirmation. If it does not appear, simply close the tab and try again.


4. Changing Policies

To fix a mistake in the action you selected, navigate to 'settings' from the menu on the left in the browser of Barracuda. Then, click 'sender policy'.

Here, you can view all policies you've created for senders and also remove them. You can also add a sender by entering in their full email address in the 'sender' box, select your policy, then click add.


5. FAQ

- What do I do if an email is blocked and I don't want to wait?

Click 'manage quarantine' at the top of the Barracuda email in your inbox. 

 Once in the browser, click the menu, then 'message log'.

 After you click the message log, you'll see a list of emails that have been quarantined. Select the check box next to the email(s) you want to have immediately delivered, then select 'deliver' by clicking the paper plane icon on the top bar.
